top 5 spring essentials: magnolias on main
Here lately we have had a few really nice weather days in the mid 70s and it has me all ready for spring. There is just something about going through a cold winter and getting that first taste of spring. I always immediately start thinking of refreshing my front porch, planting my herbs, and getting fresh colorful flowers out. I am always chomping at the bits by March or April for a beach trip and salty air. Another thing I look forward to is less layers and spring attire! Today, I am sharing my top 5 must haves this spring ranging from classic staples to what is trending. I am so excited to be doing this with Magnolias on Main. I cannot say enough about the ladies that run this small shop in Guntersville, Alabama. The store is so esthetically pleasing and organized, while having all the best of your fashion needs. The customer service and shopping experience they provide is among the best.
#1 SUNDRESSES
First let’s talk about a MUST HAVE when it comes to spring a summer- a light flowy sundress! If you know me, you know that I have a serious thing for dresses and sandals and I am definitely most passionate about this topic. Honestly, there is nothing in the world more comfortable to me than a soft flowy dress and a trendy pair on sandals to pair with it. All winter long while I am layering sweaters and pants, I am dreaming of the days where I can throw on a cute dress and stylish pair of sandals and let it ride!! Dresses are one thing that will make it appear as though you have put more effort into your outfit and really you put less! One thing that is special about the majority of dresses I find at Magnolias is the fit. I feel like Magnolias does a great job at selecting dresses that check all the boxes for me and they always have a great variety. I know that any time of the year, I can go in Magnolias and find a dress that is comfortable yet still flattering. When selecting dresses I always look at the length- because y’all know modest is hottest! Magnolias always has great modest lengths that I enjoy, while still having a wide range of lengths for everyone! They are also very particular when choosing brands and always have the best quality dresses around. When I want to feel my best, I always pull a Magnolia’s on Main dress out of my closet. You can never have too many for spring, so sundresses are for sure a staple that I would stock up on this year. Get outside and feel great in a feminine, classic sundress!
Let’s talk more staples! While I love being in on all the new trends (and yes I rely fully on my ladies at Magnolias to keep me in the loop!) I also love a classic look and having staples on hand at all times.
#2 SUNGLASSES
I love a good pair of sunglasses, and I am not going to lie- I am usually a sunglasses snob. When I seen how cute these sunglasses were I immediately thought… Are they polarized? Are they good quality? Are they a comfortable fit? And the answer is YES!! Magnolias stocks the “i-SEA” brand, which carries the slogan: “premium eye wear anchored in quality and style” and I could not back this more! I literally wanted 3 pairs, however I didn’t totally black out and buy them all- but I wanted to!! Put a pair of these on your must have list for this spring and summer!
#3 WHITE DENIM SHORTS
White denim shorts can be purchased anywhere but there is something to be said about the pair pictured. These shorts are made by “Joe’s Jeans” and I am OBSESSED. Not kidding, I have looked for 2-3 years for the perfect pair and have not found them yet until I purchased these. They fit in all the right places, which is so hard to find. Of course the quality is top notch, while also being the perfect length. We live in the south and shorts are a must, but again no one wants to look like a hoochie mama still in their late 20s nor do they want to wear bermuda shorts, these shorts are the perfect in between. They will be my “go-to” for sure this spring as they literally can be thrown on with a t-shirt, a swim suit, or a fancy cute top to go out in. You can literally never go wrong with a pair of white denim shorts and these are the best!
#4 STRAW HAT
Okay, I own a large straw hat and it is hands down without a doubt my most worn hat in my closet. My love for straw hats is STRONG! They are a staple that you can buy once and wear for many years to come as they aren’t necessarily trendy but definitely make you look in style and really elevate your outfit. Straw hats are adorable with fixed hair and a full face of make up (like pictured) if you are feeling fancy. However, many times I have thrown on a sundress, air dried hair, and a little mascara (which is definitely nothing special) and when I put my straw hat on, I some how feel like my outfit is complete and I am way more put together than what I really am! Everyone needs a straw hat in their closet and this Lack of Color hat pictured is a GOOD one!
#5 DUSTER
Finally, something new a trendy! (This was by far my favorite outfit of the day!) Like I said earlier, I love staples but there is something about putting on a new on-trend outfit that just makes you feel like a million bucks. Dusters are going to be big this spring and this Z Supply duster was something I knew I couldn’t leave without. This particular duster is very lightweight and great for layering. I love this trend because a lot of times we dress for the hot outdoor weather but when we go to dinner or indoors it’s a little cool. So, this duster is perfect for such situations while keeping you comfortable and stylish. This duster is a perfect transitional piece to add to your closet this spring and I am super excited that I purchased!
